Long-Distance Chinese Digital Display Laser Ranging Sensor

The working principle of the laser range measurement sensor is based on the time of flight ranging technology TOF (Time-of-Flight). It determines the target distance by emitting laser pulses of a specific wavelength and measuring the time from emission to reflection. The speed of the laser pulse is known (the speed of light is about 3*10^8 meters/sec). Therefore, by measuring the flight time of the pulse, the distance can be calculated.

Currently, there are two main algorithmic methods for industrial use, which have always been pulsed ranging (dTOF), and the other is phase difference ranging (iTOF).

Pulse ranging (dTOF) directly measures the flight time difference calculation distance between the light pulse transmitted to the received flight time. The circuit is relatively easy to implement, the measurement frequency is fast, and the accuracy is about 2-3mm.

Phase difference distance measurement (iTOF) calculates the object distance by measuring the phase offset between the sine wave of the transmitting end and the receiving end of the light wave, which is proportional to the object distance. This algorithm is relatively complex, with a fastest measurement frame rate within 20Hz, a maximum distance of 40 meters, and an accuracy of about 1-2mm.
